Working in 3’s
Lately I have started working in small intentional series - three pieces at a time. There is something about the number 3 which feels like a conversation - one piece that initiated it, another that responded, and the third which concluded it.
Similarly, each piece grows out of the one before it - the curve shifts, it tilts a little, there is a difference in size. These small differences matter because they are the language of the piece.
These aren’t prototypes, but the completed works. The repetition and variation inviting the viewer to compare and look more deeply into the differences.
