Held in Rupture
These works evoke the fractures of displacement and diaspora - their surfaces layered in fragments, making them scarred and uneven. Staples hold some of the pieces together reflecting on Ju Ci, the ancient Chinese method of repairing ceramics. Neither whole nor broken, these bowls hold space for contradiction - where wound and healing, coexist.
