Conversations No. 2

Handbuilt from NZ-made clay, these three slab-built drinking vessels explore themes of identity, diaspora, and the experience of being overseas-born Chinese. The darkened exterior suggests concealment and adaptation, while the heavily glazed interiors evoke cultural memory, emotion, and complexity. Together with drips break over the surface, they speak to the quiet tensions of displacement - grounded yet weathered, contained yet overflowing.
